Health Psychologist
My aim is to support my clients to achieve their full potential.
During my career in healthcare I have helped many people to make significant changes within their lives. Working within the NHS mental health services, the third sector, and in private practice, I have supported people to overcome conditions including insomnia, procrastination, IBS, panic disorders, phobias, and substance misuse. I have been fortunate enough to work with people from all walks of life, such as: television executives, people of celebrity status, chief executive officers, top financiers, civil servants, tradespersons, chefs, fishermen, homeless people, and these are just to name a small sample.
Previously I worked in the Offshore finance industry but this work did not resonate with my need to help people. I reflected upon my options and made the leap to commence university study as a mature student. Since that day I have completed three degrees in Psychology. All of these have given me the skills and knowledge to help with a variety of conditions. I have spent years studying chronic pain and long-term health conditions and am passionate about helping people to become the best that they can be - to live as full a life as possible. To achieve this I am constantly engaging in continuing professional development, learning new skills, and applying them to a variety of conditions.
I work collaboratively with my clients Online (via Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, etc) to achieve their goals.
I use an integrative approach and have trained in EMDR, motivational interviewing, solution focussed therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and CBT-I. As a passionate psychologist I am constantly striving to enhance my knowledge and skills.
During the day I work in the UK's top ranked hospital within the chronic pain team, delivering both individual and group interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team. This is a relatively recent endeavour for me as part of my move away from the Channel Islands to becoming resident in London.
